A member agency of the United Ways of Greater Greensboro and Greater High Point, One Step Further, Inc. operates nine programs. Each program operates in accordance with individualized program budgets that incorporate projected revenue sources and program expenses. Our funding sources are diverse, and we receive funding from state agencies, local government entities, United Ways, private foundations, Board of Directors fundraising initiatives, and individual or corporate contributions.
In order for our programs to operate efficiently, we utilize in-kind resources as well. Examples of in-kind contributions include volunteer service hours, donated facility use fees, and food contributions from the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, churches, community groups, and individuals.
One Step Further is diligent in providing accurate information to our funders. Reporting requirements vary depending on the funding source, and we adhere to their policies and procedures on monthly, quarterly, mid-year, third quarter, and end-of- year bases. Additionally, our organization has an independent annual audit conducted by a CPA firm.
